Cinnamon Bread is sweet

Step 1: Make the Dough

  1. In a large bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast.
  2. Let rest 5 minutes until foamy.
  3. Add egg, melted butter, and salt.
  4. Gradually add flour and mix until a soft dough forms.
  5. Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Step 2: First Rise

  1. Place dough in a greased bowl.
  2. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1–1½ hours, until doubled.

Step 3: Prepare the Filling

  1. Mix sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
  2. Set aside.

Step 4: Shape the Bread

  1. Punch down the dough.
  2. Roll into a rectangle (about 9×14 inches).
  3. Spread softened butter over the dough.
  4. Sprinkle cinnamon-sugar evenly on top.
  5. Roll tightly into a log.
  6. Place in a greased loaf pan.

Step 5: Second Rise

  1. Cover and let rise 30 minutes.

Step 6: Bake

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Bake for 30–35 minutes, until golden brown.
  3. If browning too fast, cover loosely with foil.

Step 7: Finish

  1. Brush hot bread with melted butter.
  2. Sprinkle optional cinnamon sugar on top.
  3. Cool before slicing.
